Insights from the Sky, Road, and Boardroom

Hello, I’m Jeff Griffiths—competency geek by both training and application, and a certified management consultant and public policy wonk by profession. This site is my “laboratory,” where I will be thinking out loud about the things I’m reading, studying and learning in my work and the other parts of my life. Welcome!

Consulting Wisdom with a Side of Adventure

We tend to take complicated things and make them more complicated. What we should be doing is making everything more simple.

In the world of competency, most of what we do is basic common sense. Competency is about being able to measure and quantify what exactly it is that you and your team members do.

Over the years, I’ve written extensively on individual and collective competency and the vital role it plays in driving organizational performance. I created this blog as a place to continue to write about all my professional endeavors, as well as my eclectic ones too—including everything from competency to motorcycles to leadership.
